Naturopathy is the best approach for managing hormones. As a Naturopath I take a holistic approach to your health, to get to the root cause of your hormone imbalance symptoms, so we can change the way your body works (through diet, lifestyle changes, and herbs) to resolve those symptoms.

If you’re sick of masking your symptoms, want to feel great again, and value your health then a naturopathic approach is for you.

-You book and pay for your appointment online

-You’ll receive a booking confirmation (please check your junk and promotion folders too) with a link to your intake forms. These must be completed at least 24 hours prior to your appointment

-In the same email you will recieve a zoom link, it’s advised to star the email

  • Obtain copies of recent pathology and email these to me at least 24 hours prior to your appointment

-On the day of your appointment, be in a quiet and light space. Click on the zoom link 5 minutes prior to the start time of your appointment

-We’ll talking for up to 75 minutes depending on the type of appointment you have booked

-24-48 hours after your  appointment you will receive an invoice for any recommended tests or investigations, a treatment plan, and invoice for any prescribed supplements or herbs

-Once you have paid the invoice for the supplements, they will be express shipped to your home!

Our health is made up from many moving parts from what we eat, to our environment, lifestyle, genetics, and even our self-talk.

During a consultation we talk about your health goals, then we move onto different body systems such as digestive and hormonal health. Then we discuss sleep, stress, habits, and even your home and work environments.

I aim to investigate all aspects of your health so we can get to the bottom of what is driving your irregular cycle, acne, weight gain, moods, and fatigue. On the first consultation I will ask you questions to determine what tests we need to order, such as a hormone panel, thyroid panel, and micronutrient such as vitamin D, zinc, iron and magnesium.

If you are looking for education on your heath, this is a significant focus of mine in clinical practice. I also examine your pathology results with a fine tooth comb to ensure nothing is missed. I want to ensure that your health is in the best hands possible.

I use both nutritional medicine and herbal medicine treatments in clinical practice. I may also recommend lifestyle practices such as breath works, yoga, or encourage any hobbies or practices that you find helpful i.e crocheting.

I use two different online dispensaries. Products are express shipped to you after your appointment.

I recommend meeting fortnightly to start with. After this we can move to monthly, with the aim of you not needing to see me once your cycle has returned, your skin is clear, and you’re feeling energised again!

If you haven’t had any recent blood tests within the last 3 months, I recommend getting tests after your first appointment. We can discuss what would be the most indicated tests, after discussing your health goals, medical history, and signs and symptoms at your first appointment.

I always suggest getting copies of prior tests you’ve had so that we can look at trends over time. You can email a copy of the blood tests through to hello@lesleyoconnornaturopath.com.au.

Test recommendations are always individual and will depend on your medical history, signs, symptoms, your health goals, and also your budget. I will typically always recommend a hormone panel which can include:

  • – FSH
  • – LH
  • – Oestrogen
  • – Progesterone
  • – Testosterone
  • – Androstenedione
  • – SHBG
  • – Prolactin
  • – Fasting Insulin
  • – Fasting Glucose
  • – Cortisol (Morning at 8am)
  • – DHEA

Metabolic tests:

  • – MTHFR (if miscarriages are a concern)
  • – Homocysteine
  • – Lipid studies (cholesterol panel)
  • – Full Blood Count (FBC)
  • – eLFTs (Electrolytes and Liver Function Test)

Depending on your individual needs I may recommend:

  • – Vaginal Microbiome test
  • – Complete Stool Analysis (CDSA)
  • – Full Thyroid Panel (TSH, T3 & T4, and Thyroid Antibodies)
  • – Micronutrients (iron, vitamin D, zinc, magnesium, folate, B12,
  •
  • Blood testing rules:
  • – For FSH, LH, & Oestrogen test on day 2 of your cycle
  • – For Progesterone make sure you test 7 days after ovulation
  • – Make sure you get bloods taken first thing in the morning, on an empty stomach (fasted)
